Programme Lead

Climate Legacy, working in partnership with the Small Change Fund, is a project that aims to engage and mobilize older Canadians in climate action through their voice, their time and their money. Our vision is that Canada move steadily and effectively towards a zero net carbon economy in the next decade through actions at municipal, provincial, federal, and international levels. Seniors comprise a significant force in combating climate change and are often overlooked in current mobilizing efforts. This is why we are establishing a climate action platform and resource dedicated to older Canadians.

In this new role, reporting directly to Climate Legacy’s Steering Committee, you will be responsible for coordinating the development and day-to-day administration of an upcoming major Climate Legacy project, entitled “Building a Better Climate Legacy”.

Working with the Steering Committee and two part-time Climate Legacy staff, you will support the planning, and implementation of this fast-moving new initiative. Creative thinking and a passion for Canadian climate action are a must!

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a still growing and evolving organization and develop a unique expertise in the needs of older adults looking to engage in climate action.

Initially, this will be a six-month contract position (20 hours/week). However, Climate Legacy is working to secure additional funding for this project, and with success this contract will be extended for a longer term.
