On March 19, 2021, climate activists around the world will be participating in a Global Climate Strike as part of Fridays for Future‘s demand for immediate action on climate change.
Created by Greta Thunberg in 2018, Fridays for Future has turned into a global movement that spans generations. Climate Legacy members such as Seniors for Climate Action Now (SCAN) are active participants in climate strikes across Ontario.
Though the protests will look different this year due to COVID-19, Fridays for Future still intends to hold governments, financial institutions and private companies to account, demanding they take real action, and that there are #NoMoreEmptyPromises from those with the power to change the climate conversation.
