Canadians across the country will be marching for climate action on September 8th as part of 350.org’s Canada is Still on Fire day of action. In Ottawa, the rally will take place on Parliament Hill at noon.
The day of action comes right in the middle of the federal election campaign. September 8th also happens to be the day of the French Federal Leaders debate and the day before the English debate. 350.org is demanding that all parties and candidates pledge to deliver:
- A moratorium on fossil fuel expansion, including stopping construction on existing expansion projects
- An urgent and robust just transition plan that leaves no one behind and moves us past fossil fuels.
